Jiu-Jitsu or Kickboxing — Which Should You Start With?

Raptor runs two programs under one roof: Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing. New students often ask which one to start with. Here's the honest breakdown.
Jiu-Jitsu is the ground game. No striking. It's leverage, control, and submissions. It's the best fit for people who want a martial art they can train hard for decades without accumulating a ton of damage, and for anyone whose main goal is real self-defense skill for the widest range of situations. Kids, adults, and complete beginners all do great here.
Kickboxing is the stand-up game — punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and clinch work, taught on pads and bags. It's a phenomenal conditioning workout and the fastest way to feel confident on your feet. If your main goals are fitness, stress relief, and learning to strike cleanly, this is the door.
Not sure? Start with whichever program's class time fits your life best. Many students end up training both — that's why the memberships stack the way they do.
Your first class in any program is free. Try one. If it isn't the right fit, we'll help you pick the next one.
